Carmel Snow saw Diana Vreeland dancing dressed in Chanel, with roses in her hair, and understood that this woman belonged at Harper's Bazaar. Outside, New York continued to rise toward the sky. The Chrysler Building gleamed amid the steel and lights of a city convinced that the future would be extraordinary. Perhaps that is why this fabric seems to preserve a piece of that New York. The burgundy, gold, and geometric lines evoke a skyline that was beginning to glow as evening fell.
